MWool® Recycled Wool by Manteco
MWool® is the new generation of recycled wool by Manteco, a registered trademark, now a symbol of a circular material, with low environmental impact and of excellent quality.MWool® is obtained thanks to the mechanical recycling, without chemical substances, of pre- and post-consumer meshes, which are first selected and analyzed through more than 150 chemical and physical tests.MWool® colors are all obtained without dyes and chemicals, thanks to Manteco's Recype® process.MWool® is the first regenerated wool in the world to be analyzed through a certified Life Cycle Assessment to calculate its environmental impact.After this in-depth study, in fact, it was found that a fabric made with MWool® impacts -72% on CO2 emissions, 83% on the use of water and -58% on the use of energy, compared to an equivalent fabric madewith generic virgin wool.
Wheat Straw Deadstock
The materials used to create the models of the SS22 Collection Straw Garden were carefully chosen from the warehouse of the Memar company, giving a new life to materials in excellent condition that often lie unused, creating what is commonly called deadstock.
Denim with 65% recycled cotton
Made with 65% recycled cotton from production waste, with an eco finishing process and certified by GRS. Its production sees the reduction of water consumption by 70%, the use of chemicals by 85% and Co2 emissions by 60%.
Recycled plastic zippers
They are made with Newlife yarn tape obtained from the mechanical recycling of Italian plastic (polyester).
Recycled Nylon Synthetic
Sea Lilium capsule presents a synthetic material made by 60% recycled nylon and 40% polyurethan. It’s RCS certified and does not contains dangerous chemicals like formaldehyde, phthalates, heavy metals, and it does not disperse allergic dyes.
Solvent free polyester microfiber
The inner part of the SS21 bags is made with a water based polyester microfiber produced reducing CO2 emissions by 35% and water use by 70%.
Water-based synthetic
The solvent-free synthetic material used for Mati Spring 20 and Fall 20/21 collections is produced reducing CO2 emissions by 35%, water use by 70% and solvents by 99%. All the while preserving performance, respecting animals and the environment.
Natural plant fibers
We source the cellulose used in our SS 20 collection outer woven fabrics from the Dicart group certified by the FSC, Forest Stewardship Council, that manages forest protection and ensures real benefits to local communities living near them.
Our SS 20 and FW 20/21 linings are made of organic cotton and hemp, durable and yet with novel weaving techniques also soft to the touch. Hemp, the plant, is easy to grow organically as it does not require the use of pesticides and herbicides. It’s one of the most efficient plants in converting carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Recycled fibres
FW 20/21 jacquard shoulder straps are made from recycled polyester.
Dust bags supplied with each bag are made from recycled cotton and water printed.
Metals
Our design principles mean that we minimise the use of metals to lower their environmental impact. We use zamak, a metal alloy composed mainly of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper.
